About PHABC

The Public Health Association of British Columbia (PHABC) is a voluntary, non-profit, non-government organization whose mission is to preserve and promote the public’s health.

We work toward this mission through its activities in disease and injury prevention, health promotion, health protection, and advocacy for healthy public policy.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of public health leaders from health authorities, government, post secondary institutions, and the non-profit sector.

PHABC has a long history of advocating for healthier public policies. For example, in the past year we have pressed governments on issues including refugee health, tanning bed regulation and the prevention of the harmful use of psychoactive substances.
